Pacifica Pharmacy in Torrance earned the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board’s Seal of Accreditation for meeting the compounding pharmacy profession’s highest quality and safety standards in April 2007. Pacifica Pharmacy has been tested against an extremely challenging set of national standards created by the some of the experts in pharmacy compounding today, and Pacifica Pharmacy has met or exceeded all of the PCAB standards. We are honored to be among the first in the nation to achieve this distinction, which confirms our commitment to providing safe, personalized solutions that meet your medical needs.

With the estimated 30 to 40 million prescriptions that are compounded each year, there has been a need for an enhanced, profession-wide system of standards by which each compounding pharmacy can test its quality processes. While we are regulated by the state, PCAB® Accreditation is an even more comprehensive way to ensure a compounding pharmacy has undergone the profession’s most rigorous review and inspection measures. PCAB accreditation requires that a pharmacy:

  • Uses only high quality chemicals and equipment
  • Employs compounding pharmacists and technicians who receive continuing education and training in compounding
  • Passes an extensive on-site inspection
  • Utilizes a system of continuous quality improvement
